Alexander Thompson Laid At Rest in the Tampico Cemetery

The late Alexander THOMPSON of Traer, Iowa, who passed away June 7th of pneumonia, was buried here Monday afternoon in the Tampico cemetery. Services were held in Parent's funeral parlor Monday afternoon with Rev. W. W. Maxell officiating. He used as his text Isaiah 64:6. Mrs. N. E. DENISON and Mrs. R. P. LOUDENBURG sang two favorite hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross: and "Abide With Me." Pallbearers were Richard, Fred, William, James, and Clifford THOMPSON and Kelly QUIN.

Alexander THOMPSON was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Nov. 14, 1864 and passed away June 7, 1934 at the age of 69 years. 6 months, and 26 days. He was the second son of Alexander and Henrietta Thompson who came to America when he was 8 years of age. They made their home around Elgin until he reached the age of 14 when he came to Tampico to work and remained here until his marriage to Mary SANDERS of Albany, Ill. where they made their home. To this union nine children were born, six of whom are living. His wife passed away in 1910.

In 1912 he was married to Miss Vina HALL of New Bedford, Ill., and nine children were born to them. They made their home close to Tampico for a time and then moved to Traer, Iowa, where they have made their home since.

Mr. THOMPSON is survived by his wife and nine children, Richard, Clifford, Bert, Ethel, Robert, David, Glen, Bernice and Dale, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ike FRANKS of Albany and Mrs. John CRAMER of Paulding, Ohio; four sons, James of Geneseo, Alexander Jr., of Traer, Iowa, Will of Cordova and Fred of Tampico; also two brothers, James of Tampico and Will of Cokerville, Wyoming; and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie QUINN of Yortown and Mrs. Jennie BURINS of Spencer, Nebraska.

Mrs. Thompson Died Friday

Mrs. Alexander THOMPSON died at her home northwest of Tampico last week Friday of typhoid fever. The remains were brought to Tampico last Sunday afternoon and the funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Rev. Potter officiating. Interment was in theTampico cemetery.

Mary A. SANDERS was born near Newton, Jasper county, Iowa, October 16, 1864. She wAs united in marriage to Alexander THOMPSON in 1885 at North Plato, Ill., and to this union were born eight children, two dying while young. Those surviving are Mrs. Etta FRANKS of Erie, Bessie of Chicago, James, Alexander, Fred and William at home. Also the husband and four brothers, three sisters and her aged mother. Mrs. THOMPSON was a Christian woman uniting with the church when young. She was a good kind neighbor, a faithful wife and a loving mother. The family have the sympathy of the entire community.
