GEORGE R. CAIN TAKEN BY DEATH
Funeral services for George R. Cain, 51, were held Monday afternoon in Schmitt chapel with Rev. Roger Baumeister, pastor of the Methodist church, conducting the service. Mrs. Glen Carlson served as organist.
Mrs. Henry Kolb, Mrs. Richard Kelly and Mrs. Clayton Smith were in charge of the lovely flowers.
Burial was in Tampico Memorial cemetery where military services were conducted at the grave by American Legion Post No. 574. Mr. Cain was a veteran of World War II.
Taps were sounded by Robert Lauts and Day Kelly of the school band.
Wesley Broers, Vernon Denison, Ivin Rosenow, LeRoy Stewart, Earl Krantz, and Richard Chapin served as casket bearers.
The business houses closed during the service.
George Robert Cain, son of H. E. and Ada Furry Cain, was born in Tampico, April 21, 1913 and died suddenly Friday morning while at work in the Cain Rexall store. He had been in poor health for the past few years.
He had lived in Tampico most of his life and received his education in the local schools. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 574, Tamipco, and the Elks Lodge, Denver, Colo.
Surviving are one brother, Egbert and a sister, Dorothy, both of Tampico.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and David.
