Amaryllis McNinch


Amaryllis McNinch, 75, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at her home. She was employed by Tampico High School as a custodian for many years.






Mrs. McNinch was born June 3, 1933, in Rock Falls, the daughter of William P. and Cecelia V. (Martinson) Scanlan. She married Carlos J. McNinch on June 11, 1950, in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1984.






Survivors include a daughter, Paulette (Gordon) Zaagman of Morrison; five sons, Carlos Jay (Rita) McNinch of Tampico, Thomas (Candice) McNinch, Mitchell (Glen-da) McNinch, and Kurt (Leanne) McNinch, all of Rock Falls, and Gregory (Chrissy) McNinch of Sterling; a sister, April (Michael) Ransom of Lyndon; two brothers, Norden (Mary) Scanlan of Tampico and Larry (Peggy) Scanlan of Lyndon; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.






She was preceded in death by a daughter; a grandchild; a greatgrandchild; a brother; and a sister.






The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Tampico Baptist Church, with the Rev. Karl Kaiser, pastor, officiating.






A gathering of family and friends is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.






In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Tampico Ambulance Service.
