HILDA MARIE  (Hawkinson) HAWKINSON

 

Funeral Rites Held For Hilda  Hawkinson

 

Prophetstown: -  Hilda Marie Hawkinson, 83, passed away Friday night, Dec. 23, in the Sterling Community General Hospital.

 

She was born Dec. 30, 1882, in Plattsmouth, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hawkinson. She was educated in the Plattsmouth schools and the Omaha Business School.

 

She married G. W. Hawkinson of Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 20, 1903.  The couple moved to Prophetstown in 1908.  She attended the Prophetstown Methodist Church.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Mr. Charles (Alice) Buyers of Sterling, and Mrs. Clayton (Agnes) Weber of Prophetstown, one sister, Mrs. Anna Rogers of Chice, Calif. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband and three brothers.

 

Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 26, at 1 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Prophetstown with the Rev. Paul Olson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kennth Hansen, Kennth Fenn, J. B. Reichard Sr., Warren Weber, George Klockenga and Robert Herald. Organist was Mrs. V. R. Olmstead and Mrs. Frank Lanphere was solist.  A memorial for the Methodist Church has been established.

 

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.
