Mrs. Luella Carlson Services Tuesday
 
Tampico: - Mrs. Luella Martha Carlson, 64, of Tampico, died Sunday morning in Community General Hospital, Sterling, after an extended illness.  There will be visitation from seven to nine o'clock this Monday evening in the Schmitt Chapel. 
 
Funeral rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Schmitt Chiapel by the Rev. Alan Walsanen, pastor of the Tampico Baptist Church.  The burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
 
Mrs. Carlson was born June 6, 1906, in Rock Falls, the daughter of Alexander and Florilla Morse McCombs.  She was united in marriage with Harold Carlson Aug. 1, 1923 in Rock Falls and had lived her entire lifetime in the Tampico area.
 
Mrs. Carlson was a member of the Tampico Baptist Church and for 27 years served as a telephone operator for the Tampico Farmers Mutual Telephone Co.  Her husband died in 1968. 
 
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arlyn (Lucille) Cady of Yorktown and Mrs. Jack (Lois) Glassburn of Sterling;  two sons, Neil of Tampico and Wayne of Moline;  14 grandchildren and her father, Alex McCombs of Inglewood, Calif.  She also leaves three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ransom Egert of Tampico, Mrs. Ernest Williams of Gardena, Calif., Mrs. Paul Swanson of Fountain Valley, Calif. and LeRoy McCombs of Redondo Beach, Calif.  Preceding in death were her mother, one son in infancy and one sister, Lila.
