DELBERT  E.  HEPNER

 

Prophetstown: - Delbert E. Hepner, 71, of 5911 Yager Rd., Prophetstown, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at his home.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Carson Daniel Lauffer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown.  A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.

 

Mr. Hepner was born May 14, 1926, in Kewanee, the son of George and Marie (Egert) Hepner.  He married Alice Winchell on June 2, 1963, at the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown.  He farmed in the Prophetstown area for several years and was employed at Rock River Lumber and Grain, Prophetstown, prior to retiring, and was a campground host at Prophetstown State Park for over six years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Alice; one daughter, Kara (Edward) Dornbush of Prophetstown; three grandchildren, Jonathan Dornbush, Jeffrey Dornbush, and Elizabeth Dornbush; two sisters Elaine (Robert) Willetts and Jeanette Hepner, both of Prophetstown; and one brother, Wendell (Gloria) Hepner of Hot Springs, Ark.  He was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
