Farmer Found Dead In Bed Friday Morn

Tampico, Ill., Dec 3 - (Special) - William Kilroy, aged 59, a resident of Montmorency Township, was found dead in his bed at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William McCormick, two miles east of Tampico, at 5 o'clock Friday morning.  Mr. Kilroy had been employed for several weeks in helping his son-in-law with his corn picking.

Mr. Kilroy had been in good health and had spent the entire day Thursday in picking corn.  If he was feeling badly Thursday night before he retired, he made no complaint and when Mr. McCormick went to Mr. Kilroy's room to call him at 5 o'clock Friday morning, he was shocked to find him cold in death.

Mr. Kilroy had been a resident of Tampico for a number of years until last spring when he and his family moved to a farm in Montmorency Township.

An inquest will be held by Coroner Frye Friday afternoon.  The definite plans for the funeral have not been made, pending workd from relatives.

Obituary - William E. Kilroy

Willliam Edward, son of Patrick and Christina Kilroy, was born in Galt, Ill., February 11, 1866, and departed this life December 3, 1926, aged 59 years, 9 months and 22 days.

In his early boyhood he moved to Hume with his parents.  He was united in marriage to Miss Ida M. France in 1896, and resided in Hume until about 23 years ago when he moved to Tampico, where they resided until the past year, when they moved to Montmorency.

To this union were born ten children, seven boys and three girls; Earl and Fred of Montmorency, Mrs. Charles Chriest and Mrs. Wm. F. McCormick of Tampico, John of Sterling, Harry of Hume, Charles, Leon, Minnie and Robert at home.

He also leaves to mourn his untimely loss three brothers and one sister, John and Charles of Morrison, and Herbert and Mary of Lyndon, twenty-one grandchildren and a number of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the home in Montmorency Monday afternoon, December 6, 1926, Reverend I. A. Woodrow, pastor of the Tampico M. E. Church officiating.  Burial in Tampico Cemetery.

Mesdames C. D. Love and N. E. Denison sang appropriate and beautiful hymns and five sons and a son-in-law, Earl, Fred, John, Harry and Charles Kilroy, and Wm. F. McCormick, acted as pallbearers.
