Levi Lutyen Brainerd Of Tampico Succumbs; Funeral Rites Sunday
 
Tampico: - Levi Lutyen Brainerd, 72, passed away at the home in Tampico at 9 a.m. Thursday following a long illness.  Funeral services will be at the Parent chapel in Tampico Sunday at 2 p.m.  Committal will be in
Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
 
Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Parent; one daughter Mrs. Clifford Allen, Newport, R.I., and a sister, Mrs. Cora Glassburn, Sedalia, Mo.

Funeral Services For Levi L. Brainerd At Tampico Chapel
 
Tampico: - Funeral services for Levi L. Brainerd were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Parent chapel with Eugene Morgan pastor of the Church of Chirst officiating.  Recordings were played before and after the service.
The many floral offerings were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chapin and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Smith. 
 
Burial was in the Tampico Cemetery with Thomas Rasmussen, Jack Brill Pope, Guy Billy Parent, Paul Terrock, Richard Chapin, Albert Griffin, serving as pallbearers.
 
Levi L. Brainerd, 72, passed away at his home May 17 at 9 a.m. after an illness of four years.  He was born June 11, 1878 to Lewis and Libby Lutyens Brainerd in Kinsle County, Ill.  He received his education in the Tampico schools and lived there 72 years. He was married in Tampico to Edith Parent, Sept. 21, 1898. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1948 with a double celebration with her sister Minnie E. and John Pope. Both couples were married the same day. 
 
He was employed for many years at the Chapin creamery until his health failed.  He is survived by his wife Edith; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford Allen, and two grandchildren, Barbara and Marilyn Allen of Newport, R.I.; a sister, Mrs. Cora Glassburn of El Paso, Texas, and an uncle, Levi Lutyens of near Tampico.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ben Brainerd of Rock Falls.
