 Ethel R. Smith Dead

Funeral services for Miss Ethel R. Smith, a former Tampico resident, were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Parent chapel with Rev. Vernon Gibb, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Ethel R. Smith, born in Chebanse, Ill., August 2, 1871, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Smith, passed away April 4, 1947 at the Fairview nursing home in Rock Falls. Ethel came with her parents to Tampico in 1872. She received her education in the Tampico schools and resided here until 1923 when she went to Sterling to make her home with her sister. Mrs. Ford Smith. Miss Smith was amember of the Tampico Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and leaves to mourn her passing two sister, Mrs. Bert Peckham of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mrs. Ford Smith of Sterling, Ill.
