HELEN  ESTHER  (Dessing)  RHOADES
 
Mrs. Howard Rhoades Succumbs Tuesday
 
Prophetstown: - Mrs. Howard Rhoades, 48, passed away Tuesday afternoon in the Morrison Community Hospital, following an extended illness.
 
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Leon Methodist Church, the Rev. Preston Woods officiating, with burial in Leon Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown, Friday afternoon and evening.
 
Helen Esther Dessing Rhoades was born May 17, 1920 in Prophetstown, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Regler) Dessing. She was educated in the Prophetstown schools. She married Howard Rhoades on May 29, 1937 in Prophetstown and was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church.
 
She is survived by her husband, father, two sons, David and Gary at home; four daughters, Mrs. Max (Carol) Tucker of Joliet; Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Thompson of Erie; Mrs. Dale (Terry) Smith of Hillsdale and Sharon at home; two brothers, two sisters and 10 grandchildren.
