RANSOM  DUDLEY  EGERT 

Ransom Egert Rites Saturday 

Tampico: - Ransom Dudley Egert, 77, died Thursday morning at his home in Tampico after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tampico Church of Christ with the Rev. Clarke Devore officiating.  Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at Schmitt Chapel in Tampico on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established for the Tampico Church of Christ. 

Ransom Egert was born April 22, 1897 in Lorraine Township, the son of Joseph and Ione Egert. He received his education in the Prophetstown schools. He married Nora Belle McCombs on Dec. 27, 1921 at Davenport, Iowa.  He was a member of the Tampico Church of Christ and had served as a church board member for many years.  He farmed in the Prophetstown and Tampico area until his retirement. 

Survivors include his widow; one son, Lowell Egert of rural Tampico; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Audrey) Weaver of Riverside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, C. Robert Egert of Geneseo;  Harold Egert of Lyons, Iowa and Arvid Egert of Moline;  six sisters, Mrs. Jesse Fowler,  Mrs. Marie Hepner,  Mrs. Flossie Roselieb and Mrs. Verna Klockenga, all of Prophetstown,  Mrs. Doris Burres of Wyanet and Mrs. Arlene Jackson of Fulton. 

He was preceded by his parents, one son Richard D. in 1953 and one infant son Cecile.
