ELIJAH  WELLS  OSBORNE 

Elijah  Osborne Dies Tuesday 

Tampico: - Elijah Wells (Tom) Osborne, 75, Tampico, passed away Tuesday afternoon in Community General Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, at 1 p.m. at the Tampico Baptist church with the Rev. Allen Waisanen, officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.   A memorial has been establishd to the Tampico Baptist Church. 

Elijah Osborne was born July 25, 1899, the son of Noah and Zulu Belle Osborne in Industry, Ill.  He was educated in Industry and Golden schools and married Nellie Schieferdecker, Feb. 11, 1919 in Quincy, Ill.  He resided in the Tampico vicinity for 36 years and was a member of the Tampico Baptist Church.  He worked for the Tampico Telephone Co. for four years and at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for 20 years until his retirement in 1964. 

Survivors include his widow at home, two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Eileen Davis, Tampico and Mrs. Margaret Graham, Ft. Wayne, Ind.;  two sons, Gene of Golden, Ill., and Lee of Annawan; nine grandchildren, two step grandchilren, nine great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Baird, Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Edward Detmer of Quincy. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
