JOSIE  (Gibson)  ACKEBERG 

Josie  Ackeberg  Dies Tuesday 

Prophetstown: - Mrs. Josie Ackeberg, 81, died Tuesday at Oak Glen Nursing Home. 

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gardner Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Sunday.  A memorial has been established for the First Lutheran Church. 

Mrs. Ackeberg was born Feb. 8, 1893 in Fairfield Township, the daughter of Nels and Mary Peterson Gibson.  She was educated in Pleasant Ridge School. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Gold Star Mothers and the First Lutheran Church.  She married Amandus Ackeberg of Prophetstown on Jan. 3, 1914 in Morrison and they farmed in the Prophetstown area for many years. 

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Froelinger, Moline;  and Mrs. Albert Castrey, Coyne Center; one son, Harry W., East Moline; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, Anton, Prophetstown;  Glen, Freemont;  and Arthur, Lyndon. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Paul and Lester and four sisters and two brothers.
