DONNA CALLAHAN

Donna Marie Callahan, 86, of Opp, Ala, formerly of Moline, died May 6, 2007, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 12, 1921, to James and  Ellen Hansen, and lived the greater part of her early life in the Sterling/Rock Falls area.

A graduate of the Rock Falls School of Beauty, Donna was a cosmetologist and a member of First Open Bible Church in East Moline for 35 years. She was very active in evangelism and traveled for many years with family members that sand and preached throughout the Midwest.

Surviving family members include six children (and spouses), Rev. Ronald Callahan, Rev. Robert (Mary) Callahan, James (Twana) Callahan, Patricia (Ronald) Sexton, Ronna (Paul) Therrell, and Mary Kay (Thomas) Montroy. She leaves behind two sisters, Aldine Swan and Lucille Roseling; and also is survived by 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by two husbands, Lester Callahan and Roland Turner; son, Tomas Callahan; a sister, Doris Verdick; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Molina.
