Funeral Rites Held Wednesday - Peter Swanson Buried From Lutheran Church 

Prophetstown: - Funeral services for Peter Swanson, 81, who died Sunday evening were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church with the Rev. F. J. Carlson officiating.  There was a large attendance of relatives and friends.  Rev. Carlson sang, "Jesus, Thou My Joy and Comfort," and a mixed quartet composed of Helen and Ethel Anderson, Paul Ackeberg and Harold Anderson sang two selections, "Jesus, They Name Hath Power to Bless" and "Unto Thee, Lord of All Creation."  All three numbers were favorite hymns of the deceased and were requested by Mr. Swanson to be sung at his services. 

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Those attending the casket were C. E. Crone of Tampico and Frank Ackeberg, Peter Benson, Olof Crosell, August Larson and John A. Larson.  Those from a distance who attended the services were:  Sterling: Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Erickson, Otto Erickson and A. A. Erickson;  Rock Falls:  Mrs. William Olson and two daughters, and Mrs. Albert Williams and son;  Chicago:  Mrs. George Mattson and two children;  Tremont:  Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gibson and son;   Morrison:  Ben Anderson and daughter and Mrs. John Pearson;  Erie:  Mr. and Mrs. Dubert Dail and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reiger, Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Dail, Mr. and Mrs William Dail, and Mrs. Dave McLaughlin;  Tampico:  Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson, Mrs. Magnus Peterson, Miss Esther Peterson, Harry Peterson, Mrs. William Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson, Swan Crosell and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Edberg and two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Crone, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Ackeberg and Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Johnson;  Walnut:  Miss Alma Swanson, Will Swanson and Vernon Swanson.
