OBITUARIES
Veronica M. Violet
BYRON - Mrs. Veronica M. Violet, 66, Byron, died Thursday at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Schilling-Reedy Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established.

She was born Oct. 27, 1918 in Erie the daughter of Edward and Bessie (Kennedy) Cooper. She married Oliver (Red) Violet June 11, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a member of the Women's Club of Byron and also the Women of the Moose Lodge 1551, Mt. Morris.

She is survived by her husband, Oliver, Byron; three daughters, Judy Herzfeldt, Cordova; Mrs. Henry (Jane) Patton, West Memphis, Ark., and Mrs. Bud (Julie) Bradley, Tampico; three sons, Doug, Mt. Morris; Don, Byron, and Devin, Spring, Texas; 19 grandchildren; one great grandchild; her mother, Mrs. Bessie Cooper, Erie, and two brothers, Kenneth Cooper, Fenton, and Donald Cooper, Lyndon.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister.
