Funeral Services Held For Merton Kelly, 39 

Prophetstown: - Funeral services for Merton LeRoy Kelly, 39, who died early Saturday morning were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Gardner Chapel. The Rev. Steve Persa, pastor of the Concordia Lutheran Church of Geneseo, officiated, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery here. 

Pallbearers were John Koresko, John Albrecht Sr., Everette Presnell, Ernest Sawyer, Lowry Marine and Richard Donaldson of Geneseo.  In charge of the beautiful floral tributes were Mrs. John Koresko, Mrs. John Albrecht Sr., Mrs. Lowry Marine and Mrs. Ernest Sawyer.

 Merton LeRoy Kelly was born Sept. 21, 1914, the son of Philip and Ruby White Kelly of Lafayette, Ill.  He received his education in the Lafayette schools and was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church at Geneseo.  He came to Prophetstown in 1948 and was employed as a hog buyer here for the Armour Company. He was transferred to the Geneseo Company office about four months ago.  He married Marjorie H. Spotts of Prophetstown in Sterling on July 24, 1949.

 Surviving is the wife, one daughter, Pamela Sue, one son Larry Lee, and his mother.  He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
