Requiem At St. Mary's Church In Tampico For Oldest Citizen
 
Tampico: - Funeral services were held for Mrs. Anna Bingenheimer Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Tampico, with Rev. A. M. Weitekamp officiating, assisted by Rev. B. E. Beddoes of Rock Falls, at the requiem high mass. Before leaving the home, one of the granddaughters, Mrs. Anna Jane Core, led in prayer.
 
Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, with Robert Adams, Martin Barrett, Frank O'Neill, Will Adams, Richard Egan and Everett Roach serving as pallbearers.  There were many relatives and friends attending from Baileyville, Port Byron and all Surrounding towns.
 
Mrs. Bingenheimer, Tampico's oldest resident, passed away at the age of 92 at the home of her son Joseph in Rock Falls Friday morning, May 4, after being ill for some time. She was born Dec. 13, 1858, at Nanno, Wis., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Saffra, and was reared and educated at Nanno.
 
Jan. 2, 1879, she was united in marriage to Fredrick Bingenheimer at St. Peter's and St. Paul's Catholic church in Nanno. This was the church in which they were confirmed. They were both born in Washington County, Wis.  They attended the same school,, the same church, took their First communion together and were confirmed at the same time.
 
Shortly after their marriage they came to Illinois and settled near New Bedford. They continued farming until 1910 when they moved to Tampico where they resided.  He passed away Jan. 18, 1937.  Mrs. Bingenheimer was a member of the St. Mary's Church, Tampico, the Altar and Rosary Society, and one of the oldest members of the American Legion Auxiliary, being one of the charter members.
 
She is survived by five sons, John, George of Tampico; Joseph and William of Rock Falls; and Frank of Chicago; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Edward.
