DORIS  (Robinson)  HERALD

Prophetstown: - Doris Herald, 83, of Longmont, Colo., formerly of Propehtstown, died Monday at her home in Colorado. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown, with Rev. Bruce Janes, officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown.  A memorial has been established.

Mrs. Herald was born Oct. 19, 1904 in Ambler, Pa., the daughter of John and Emma (Kehrwieder) Robinson. She married Robert A. Herald Feb. 16, 1938 in Chicago. He died December 1984.  Following her marriage, they moved to Prophetstown in 1939 and owned and operated Herald's Walgreen Agency until 1964. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and its Sarah Circle, the Wa-Tan-Ye Club and Womens Club. She was active in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and for many years served as the local chairman of the Heart Fund. She also worked as a volunteer at the Prophetstown Riverview Center and Winnig Wheels Care Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Hogan of Chicago; one son, Robert F. Herald, Longmont; two grandchildren; one sister, Clio Cooley of Mission, Kan.
