MARGARET  R.  THACKABERRY
Margaret R. Thackaberry, 85, 601 W. 3rd St., Sterling, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at Community General Hospital.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Melvin-Schilling Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Greenville-Fairfield Cemetery in New Bedford. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established to the First Christian Church, Sterling.
 
Margaret Thackaberry was born on Aug. 31, 1898 in Bureau County, the daughter of Marcus R. and Clara Shugart Thackaberry. She received her masters degree from Northwestern University.She was a teacher and reader supervisor in the Sterling Schools for a number of years, retiring in 1964.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and the DAR.
