RAYMOND  O.  HANSON
Prophetstown: - Raymond O. Hanson, 63, Ft. 1, Prophetstown, died Sunday morning at Community General Hospital following a short illness.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Prophetstown Church of Christ with Gary Farthing, former pastor officiating, assisted by Butch McNinch interim pastor. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gardner Chapel.  A memorial fund has been established.
 
Raymond O. Hanson was born on April 30, 1921 in Walnut, the son of Oscar and Velma Aydelott Hanson. He attended Hooppole schools. On Oct. 21, 1951 he married Mary Goodwin of Atkinson in Raymond.  He served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 522.  He was active for many years as a leader of Cub and Boy Scouts. He was employed as a machinest at Penberthy Manufacturing Company, retiring in January of 1984.  He had resided in Prophetstown since his marriage. He was a member of the Prophetstown Church of Christ.
 
Surviving are his wife; two sons; Lee, Princeton and Roy, at home; one grandson; and one sister, Beverly Locke, Kankakee.
 
Preceding him in death were his parents.
