LESTER  H.  KYGER

Prophetstown: - Lester H. Kyger, 88, of rural Prophetstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at CGH Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church, officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.

Mr. Kyger was born Sept. 15, 1911, the son of Harry and Jessie (Petty) Kyger. He married Edna M. Wharfield on Aug. 14, 1947, in Sterling. She survives.  He was employed by Lawrence Brothers, Sterling, as a punch press operator, prior to his retirement in 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Warren) Stienhurst of Dixon and Mahala (Bud Conley) Simpson of Nachusa;  two brothers, Ernest Kyger of Rock Falls, and Clarence Kyger of Chicago; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
