DOROTHY  A.  (Hunt)  TRUITT

Prophetstown:  - Dorothy A. Truitt, 71, of 824 Locust St., Prophetstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at Prophets Riverview Center, Prophetstown. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Jeffrey Clements, pastor of First Lutheran Church, officiating.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 10-11 ;a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.

Mrs. Truitt was born June 21, 1927, in Prophetstown, the daughter of Fred and Agnes (Griede) Hunt. She graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1945.  She married Richard Truitt on March 21, 1958 in Prophetstown.  He survives. She was employed by General Electric, Morrison, as an inspector until her retirement.  She was a member of GEM Club and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim (Troy) Wolf of Prophetstown; a step-daughter, Marlene (Clarence) Smith of Ophiem; a brother, Harold Hunt of Riverside, Calif.; two grandsons and a niece.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Bodenhoffer and Marjorie Hanell.
