Walnut - Vivian “Marjorie” DeWaele, age 86, of Walnut, Illinois died Tuesday February 8, 2011 at
Walnut Manor Nursing Home, Walnut, Illinois.


She was born on July 12, 1924 in Manlius, Illinois, the daughter of Loyal and Mary (Lang) Johnson. Marge was united in marriage to Loren DeWaele on March 10, 1946 at the Christian Church Parsonage in Walnut, Illinois. He preceded her in death on 12-31-09. She worked at the Walnut Manor Nursing Home for 35 years, retiring in August 2008. She was a member of War Mothers, Walnut American Legion Auxillary, and Royal Neighbors of America. Marge enjoyed embroidery work making dish towels and pillow cases.


She is survived by two sons Larry DeWaele and Darell (Brenda) DeWaele both of Walnut, Illinois; one daughter Linda Jeandrevin of Ontario, California; honorary granddaughter Amber Perry/Roberts of Davenport, Florida; one sister Leora Murphy of Rock Island, Illinois; one brother Robert (Darlene) Johnson of Walnut, Illinois; two step sisters Ruby and Irene; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren August Laverne and Tonya Nicole DeWaele, two brothers Calvin and Donald, two sisters Dorothy and Lena, son in law William Jeandrevin, step father Howard and step brother Virgil.


Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday February 12, 2011 11 AM at Garland Funeral Home Walnut, Illinois with Rev. Brian Moore of Walnut First Christian Church, pastor officiating. A gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday at Garland Funeral in Walnut. Burial of ashes will be in Walnut Cemetery. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HER MEMORY TO WALNUT MANOR NURSING HOME AND WALNUT FIRST CHRISITAN CHURCH IN LIEU OF FLOWERS.
