CHRISTIAN  D.  JOHNSON

Christian D. Johnson was born in Denmark and came to America when a young man in 1870 and settled in Fairfield Township, Bureau County, where he resided the larger part of his March, 1916, and moved to Tampico life.  He retired from active life in where he has since resided.  He lived a life that gave him a reputation as a man of high principles and integrity and was universally respected as a man of high principles and integrity and was universally esteemed.  He was married to Achsa Hayes in 1879 and eleven children were born to this union, four of whom died in infancy. 

He is survived by his widow and seven children, as follows:  Mrs. F. B. Potter of Hume,  Frank Johnson of Rockford, Mrs. A. J. Pierson of Manlius, Mrs. Frank Swanson of New Bedford, Stacey Johnson on the home farm, Wayne of Fairfield and Irene at home.  He also leaves two brothers, John of Fairfield and James W. of ____ Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Christiansen of Agra, Kansas. Buried: Greenville-Fairfield Cemetery)
