Warren N. “Nick” Shady

MILES — Warren N. “Nick” Shady, 43, of Miles, died Tuesday at his home.

Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery

He was born Sept. 13, 1963, in Iowa City to James R. and Joan L. Heneke Shady Sr. He married Patty Manning. 

He graduated from Preston High School in 1982. 

He worked with Central Steel Tubing as a tool and die maker in Camanche. He then worked as a herdsman for several farmers including Brenton Brothers and was a farmhand for Billy Miller and Ingwer Carstensen. He also worked with Tyson Foods in its meat division as a mixer in Independence for more than six years. 

He moved to Miles in 2006. 

He was of the Methodist faith. 

Survivors include his children, Heather Marie Shady and Isaac Martin Shady, both of Tampico, Ill., and Lorette Neil of Independence; one sister, Joy Bauer of Miles; brothers, James (Robin) Shady Jr. of Maquoketa and Donald Shady of Miles; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; and grandmother, Helen Shady of Maquoketa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one nephew.
