CLINTON — Phyllis Arlene Brown, 78, of Clinton and formerly of Camanche, died Saturday at Mercy North Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with Horst Hehr officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Harold Hansen Jr., Craig Hansen, Brandy Bass, Zachary Sampson, Nicholas Hansen and David Crow Jr. 

She was born Dec. 21, 1926 in Rockford, Ill., to Martie Mable Helsinger Galusha. She married Walter Brown on Jan. 29, 1950, in Clinton. He died in 1999. 

She was employed with the Savanna (Ill.) Army Depot for many years; she also worked in many restaurants and did home health care. She was active with the Veterans Auxiliary and active supporting Disabled American Veterans. 

Survivors include four sons, Harold Hansen of Rock Falls, Ill., Carl Brown of Pensacola, Fla., Richard Brown of Columbia, S.C., and Russell Brown of Tampico, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sylvia (Marvin) Turnbaugh of Chadwick, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. 

The family requests that memorials be made to the Emphysema Foundation or American Cancer Society. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, one daughter, one son, one grandchild and one sister.
