Walnut - Jesse O. Leathers, age 78, of Tampico, Illinois died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island, Illinois.

Jesse was born on May 20, 1934 in Orchardville, Illinois the son of Emery and Sylvia (Williamson) Leathers. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Ron Wolf farms for nearly 40 years. 

He is survived by one brother Jack (Kathy) Leathers of Tampico, Illinois; two sisters Ella Mae (Chester) Clevenger of Tampico, Illinois, Noma Laurence of Jeff, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Marian Clark, one niece Kimberly Clark.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Walnut with the Rev. David Menet, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Walnut American Legion Post #179. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 11a.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
