WALNUT – Robert M. Sharer, 84, of Prophetstown, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. He worked for Champion Pneumatic in Princeton for 25 years.

Robert was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Erie, the son of Miles Irving and Ethel Lucille (Grau) Sharer. He married Dorothy Nave. She preceded him in death on April 9, 1961. Robert later married June Elaine Smith on Dec. 16, 1962, in Princeton. He was a member of Amazing Grace Church in Sterling.

Survivors include his wife, June Sharer of Prophetstown; one daughter, Rebecca Sedols of Sterling; two sons, Keith R. Sharer of Cold Springs, Minn., and Robert K. (Mary Ann) Sharer of Rock Falls; one brother, William L. (Shirley) Sharer, and half brother, Eddie (Audrey) Lindskog, both of Prophetstown; and nine grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, May Ann Sharer; one son, Miles Sharer; and one grandson.

A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Limerick Cemetery in Kasbeer, with the Rev. Loren Schlomer of Amazing Grace Church officiating.
