Karen was born Aug. 7, 1946, in Sterling, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Cisketti) Kober. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Kay Silver of Sterling; five sisters, Janice (Gene) Little of Rockford, Linda (Joe) Bright of Sterling, Marsha (Russ) Johnson of Forreston, Evelyn (Dennis) Driessen of Tampico and Debbie (Larry) Richmond of Manchester, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Heather Karlee Silver and John Kevin Silver II of Elmira, N.Y.

Like the willow ...

She bends and she flows with the winds of adversity. A “real” woman does not just happen. She grows and matures through the years with each relationship and every situation. And the things that have caused her pain have not destroyed her, but have given her strength and character. If there are lines left in the geography of her face, you can be sure they are lines left from smiles, not frowns.

For a “real” woman is not only someone you will want to know ... she is someone you could never, never forget!

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites will be accorded. There are no services. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Homes. Visit www.mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com to send condolences.
