GALE E ELLIS, 94, of Resthave Home, Morrison, I, died Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Resthave Home.  

Gale was born

April 29, 1020, in Jesup, IA, to Samuel R. and Lucy Armenta (Case) Ellis. He was educated in the rural Wayne County, IL school system. Gale served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Anna M. Huizenga on December 13, 1945, in Morrison, IL. Gale worked at Eclipse Lawnmower Co. in Prophetstown, IL; International Harvester in Rock Falls, IL; Goodenough Dairy and General Electric both in Morrison, IL. He was a former member of Prophetstown American Legion. Gale enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing pool. He was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; two daughters, etty (Charles) Townsend of Tularosa, NM and Judy (Ken) Tiesman of Fulton, IL; one son, Jerry (Betty) Ellis of Fulton, IL; five grandchildren, Christopher (Janie) Landherr, Pamela (Randy) Harmon, Cathy (Dean) Nutt, Lisa Ehlers, Matthew (Katrina) Tiesman; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary K (Roscoe “Mo”) Hendrickson of Springfield, IL, and Frieda Hoover of Carbondale, IL; one son-in-law, Archie Schaefer of Morrison, IL.

He was preceded in death y one daughter, Marjorie Schaefer; one grandson, Michael Townsend; one sister, Geneva Remaley; and one Brother, Nevan “Bus” Ellis.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

OFFICIATING: Mr. Ken Renkes – Director of Conregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 9:00 am. Saturday, August 30, 2014 until the time of the service at the MorrisonChapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL  [photo]
