OBITUARY
Sarah Ellen McKean was born in Uniontown, Pa., Aug. 2, 1845, the eldest of a family of four. She came west with her father's family in 1857 and was married Feb. 7, 1865 to A. W. Arnold at Buda, Ill., where the family home was first established. Since 1882 the home has been in this vicinity. It was here that she united with the Methodist church and was ever loyal to it and faithful in attendance until ill health prevented. Her first concern was her family and to rear her children in the Christian faith.

She was a true mother in all that word implies, both to children and grandchildren who gathered under her roof tree. While strength permitted, she found much pleasure in ministering to the sick and true neighborliness was a part of her religion.

She will be greatly missed, not only by her husband who has journaleyed by her side for 51 years, and the children who were such a comfort in her declining years, but by all the friends who were always sure of a welcome to her home.

She is survived by her husband and four children:  Mrs. Fred Van DeMark, James and Joseph of this place and Jesse of Walnut, also one brother, Thompson  McKean of Bradford.

The following relatives and friends from out of town were called here to attend the funeral of the late Mrs. A. W. Arnold which occurred last Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Wylie, Mrs. Mollie McMillen and L. P. McMillen of Rock Falls, Clark McMillen of Decatur, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wylie of Sterling, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Murphy of Buda; Thompson McKean and three
daughters and Mrs. Bartel of Bradford.
