Stanley P. Loechel

January 11, 1950 - August 17, 2016

STANLEY P. LOECHEL, 66, of Prophetstown, IL, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Stan was born January 11, 1950, in Lyndon, IL, to Edward S. and Lucille G. (Armstrong) Loechel. He was educated in the Lyndon Grade School and was a graduate of Lyndon High School. Stan married Joyce E. Bosley on April 5, 1969, in Como, IL. He was employed by the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for 30 years. Following retirement, he was employed as a custodian for Prophetstown High School. Stan attended Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown and was a volunteer firefighter for the Lyndon Fire Department. He was the "grill master" for the Prophetstown grocery store cookouts for 34 years. "Stan the Man" was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He enjoyed fishing, attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; four daughters, Kimberly (Lenny) Reiley of Prophetstown; Kelly (Brad) Ottens of Sterling, IL; Angela (Nathan) Stralow of Prophetstown and Ashlie (Chris) Snowden of Prophetstown; one son, Jason (Kelly) Loechel of Lyndon, IL; sixteen grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Gorzny of Morrison, IL and one brother, John (Oy) Loechel of Lyndon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Ricketts.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown, IL

OFFICIATING: Pastor Rodney Phelps

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 22, 2016, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, 320 Lafayette Street, Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT OF CREMATED REMAINS: Lyndon Township Cemetery - Lyndon, IL
