Gerold “Pete” Crady & Mary L. Crady

LYNDON – Gerold “Pete” Crady, 81, of Lyndon died December 7, 2017, at Oak Hill Hospital in Springhill, FL.

Pete was born on June 7, 1936, in Castleton, IL the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Scott) Crady. He married Mary Garren on January 8, 1954. She died on December 18, 2017. He had been employed for 30 years at General Electric in Morrison, IL. He also operated Pete’s Snowmobile and Motorcycle Shop in Lyndon for many years. He was a member of the antique car club and enjoyed working on and rebuilding old cars.

Survivors include his children: Kevin Crady of Brookville, FL, Keith (Lydia) Crady of Prophetstown and Karen (Mark) Clements of Genoa, WI; his sisters: Kathleen Garren of Dixon, Marilyn “Jean” Smith of Rockford and Sharon Harrison of Pol; his brother John (Carol) Crady of Prophetstown; five grandchildren: Adam and Dru Crady, David Crady, Cameron and Conner Clements; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Greg Crady; brother Dwayne “Sam” Crady.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 5-7 PM at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow on Friday at 11 AM at the church. Burial will conclude at the Lyndon Cemetery. Arrangements completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown.

 

LYNDON – Mary L. Crady, age 81, of Lyndon, died Monday, December 18, 2017, at Oak Hill Hospital in Springhill, FL.

Mary was born on September 9, 1936, in Dixon, the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Baker) Garren. She married Gerald “Pete” Crady on January 8, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2017. Mary was a homemaker. She was an avid collector of many things, including, stamps, salt and pepper shakers, and bells.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Crady in Brooksville, FL and Keith (Lydia) Crady of Prophetstown; one daughter, Karen (Mark) Clements of Genoa, WI; five grandchildren, Adam and Dru Crady, David Crady and Cameron and Conner Clements; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul Garren, Jr. and one grandson, Greg Crady.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 PM. at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church in Prophetstown The funeral will follow on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will conclude at Lyndon Township Cemetery.

Arrangements have been completed with the McDonald Funeral home in Prophetstown.
