FORMER RESIDENT OF PROPHETSTOWN DIES

PROPHETSTOWN - Mrs. Addie May Waite, 75, of 2811 24th Ave., Moline, a former Prophetstown resident, died Tuesday evening in the Lutheran Hospital at Moline.

The body rests at the Wendt Brothers Funeral Home in Moline where friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Funeral rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by the Rev. William S. Mellish of the First Congregational Church, Moline. 

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the organ memorial at the First Congregational Church in Moline or the Rock Island County Heart Association.

Addie May Langdon Waite was born Dec. 14, 1882 in Prophetstown, daughter of Silas and Addie Langdon. She attended the Prophetstown Schools and was united in marriage with Harry H. Waite in June 1903 in Prophetstown. He passed away Jan. 28, 1936.

Mrs. Waite has resided in Moline since 1949. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Moline and of the Floral and Benevolent Guilds of the church, also of the King's Helpers Circle of the King's Daughters in Moline.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. LaVera Waite Smith of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Carolyn Waite Richards of Cleveland, O., and Mrs. Harriette Waite Yohn of Moline and three grandchildren, Mrs. Suzanne Smith McQuinn of Halifax, Nova Scotia, David Waite Yohn of New Britain, Conn., and Miss Mary Wayne Yohn of Moline.

Mrs.Waite was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and son in infancy and three brothers.
