Dorothy (Milby) Hutton

She was born on February 23, 1929, in Rock Falls, the daughter of William and Floy (Polley) Milby. She married William Munz in 1949 and they had two children. On December 11, 1977 she married Denverd Hutton. She was a member of First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls. Dorothy had worked at factories in Sterling and at G.E. Electric in Morrison. She had worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell; she had worked at Dixon Developmental Center; she had worked as a mail clerk at Chicago O’Hare Post Office; she had drove a school bus for KAL Lines and Head Start; and had volunteered as a pink lady at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Dorothy loved to spend winters in Texas and was known as the “cookie lady” to her family.

Survivors include her husband, Denverd; one son, Dennis Milby of Sterling; her daughter, Cathy Riggins of Tampico; her stepchildren: Mona (Tim) Briggs of Rock Falls, Denverd Hutton of Bettendorf, IA, Donna (Louie) Calaya of Kansas, Carla (Donald) Register of Kingman, AZ; one sister, Joyce (Earl) Devers of Rock Falls; six grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Elmer Milby; and two sisters, Geneva Coble and Mildred Thicksten.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Reverend Les Funderburg officiating. Private burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
