Probably from the Tampico Tornado Newspaper. J. M. and wife Ella (nee Smith) are buried in Yorktown Cemetery. Cemetery list shows the following dates:
J. M. Remington, born: Dec. 19, 1859, died: Aug. 17, 1909
Ella (Smith) Remington, born: Oct. 17, 1865, died: Aug. 29, 1925

DEATH OF A FORMER RESIDENT

Jodie M. Remington, a former Tampico business man and a well known resident of this place, died at his home in Rock Falls, Tuesday evening about 8 o'clock of diabetes of which he had suffered since last ***ember. The remains will be brought overland to Tampico Friday morning and short services in charge of Rev. Murray, pastor of the Rock Falls Congregational church, will be held at the home of his brother E. E. Remington on North Main street. The remains will be interred in the cemetery at that place.

The deceased was born Dec. 17, 1858 at Annawan where he lived with his parents until he was about a year old when they moved to Yorktown which place was his home until 1883 when he joined the imigration to Dakota where he remained until 1893-94 when he came back to Tampico and conducted a harness shop for three years after which he moved to Montour, Iowa, where he resided until some six years ago when he moved to Rock Falls.

He was married in 1883 to Miss Ella Smith, the oldest daughter of Dr. A. C. Smith and to this union one daughter, Maria, was born, who with the stricken widow and brother E. E. Remington of Tampico and one sister, Mrs. Marie Minty of Vivian, South Dakota, survive.

Mr. Remington was hightly respected in Tampico and vicinity and his death came as a distinct shock to his many old friends who tender their sympathy to the relatives.

Jodie's obit came from the 1909 Tornado -  and I believe his real name was Joseph M. Remington, Jr. so of Joseph Martin and Mary E. nee EDMOND REMINGTON. Les

Death of a Former Residient Jodie M.
