Miss Esther Soderberg

The summons came to Miss Esther SODERBERG Nov. 29, 1963. She was born in Bureau County, Ill., March 1, 1887, and at the time of her death had attained the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 28 days. In 1908 she was baptized into the membership of the Kewanee Baptist church. More than 20 years ago she was employed at Fridhem and worked here for several years. She lived in Bradenton, Florida, three years prior to her coming to Fridhem as resident member Sept. 18, 1962. Coming to Chicago she transferred her church membership from Bradenton to the Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by three cousins, Mrs. Florence HANKINS, Miss Mildred FRISK,  and Mrs. Myrtle ASHWOOD. A memorial services was held in the Fridhem chapel Dec. 1,, her pastor, Rev. Bernard E. HOGAN, and Fridhem's administrator, Rev. Gilmore LAWRENCE, officiating. Thje soloist was Mr. John A. CARLSON, and pianist Mrs. Minnie Cedargreen JERNBERG. The interment took place at the Cemetery,  Thomas, Ill., conducted by Rev. C. Geo. ERICSON, Esther lived a quiet, consistent and beautiful Christian life.

Another Death Notice:

Miss Esther SODERBERG, 78, passed away in Chicago Monday. Services were held in Chicago this Wednesday afternoon. The remains will be brought to the Thomas Cemetery for gravesdide services at 1:00 p.m. thursday.

She is survived by two cousins in this area, Francis JOHNSON and Miss Lillie JOHNSON.
