FORMER RESIDENT CALLED BY DEATH

Beautiful Life of Mrs. Liva M. Hein Came To An End Last Week

Funeral services for the late Live M. HEIN were held at 10:30 on Saturday morning at the M. E. church. Rev. F. T PALM, pastor, giving the words of consolation. Attendance of the members of the Eastern Star in a body and the many former friends and neighbors, and the flowers, gave ample testimony of the esteem in which the deceased was held. The pall bearers were R. F. WOODS, J. A. HAMBLOCK, W. L. BROWN, Walter ELMENDORF, J. M. JACOBS and Burton BROWN. Mesdames J. M CONROY and R. E. McKENZIE sang comforting songs accompanied by Mrs. R. F WOODS. Interment was in the Tampico Cemetery by the side of her husband.

In 1910 she moved to Champaign to allow her children to attend the University. Living in the Universtiy vicinity, her home was open to students at all times. She was reverently and loving called “Ma Hein” by all the boys she mothered in their days of work in the University. She was Past Worthy Matron of Morning Star chapter of Eastern Star, also past Oracle of Frances E. WILLARD Camp No. 1043, Royal Neighbors of America. She had been afflicted for the past two and one half years, but was always cheerful and in one of her last letters written to friends in Tampico, it was impossible to tell that she was in the condition she was.

In his sermon, Rev. PALM referred to the words of the Master “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these, my brethern, ye have done unto me,” and stated that the deceased  had daily practiced that creed in her care in the welfare of all in her household.

To her “boys” she was ever ministering, giving her sympathy and aid in all their problems, and the good that her influence did in developing the best in them, never can be measured or known until the last great day.

Out of town relatives and friends  attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. W. G. BUTLER of Champaign, Mr. M. A. HEIN of Hyatsville, MD, Mr. and Mrs. Henry WEBER, Mrs. Matilda WEBER, Mrs. Margaret McDONNELL, Miss Mary WEBER, Mrs. Fred WAHL, Mrs. Adam HECKMAN, Mrs. Nettie ALLEN, Mrs. Edna GLASSBURN, Mrs. R. D. MITCHELL, Messrs. Arthur PALMER, Henry HAMBLOCK, W. W. WAHL, Leo J. WAHL, Clyde R.
