Ivin G. Rosenow, age 75, of 205 N. Main Street in Tampico, Illinois died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He was born on April 9, 1931 in Manlius, Illinois, the son of Henry and Clara (Thompson) Rosenow. He was united in marriage to Avis Olsen on July 19, 1953 in Earlville, Illinois.

He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He owned and operated Rosenow Sinclair in Tampico and he worked for Pratt’s Garage a number of years. He was service manager at Wilner Chevrolet in Walnut and Bun Austin in Sterling retiring in 1999. He most recently worked for Foster Coach Sales in Sterling. He was a charter member of the Tampico Lions Club, the Tampico American Legion and served as past president of the Tampico School Board. He served on the Tampico Township Board and served on the Tampico Fire Department for 37 years. He enjoyed family and friends and will sadly missed by everyone.

He is survived by his wife Avis of Tampico, Illinois; one son Stephen (Mary) Rosenow of Glen Carbon, Illinois; one daughter Kristine (Bruce) Hill of Tampico, Illinois; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister Maxine Long of Dixon, Illinois; three brothers Vernon Rosenow of Rock Falls, Illinois, Jerry (Marge) Rosenow of Port St. Lucia, Florida, Ron (Judy) Rosenow of Edwards, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews; and 4 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Stephanie, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with the Rev. Greg Olson pastor of Prophetstown Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY.
