PROPHETSTOWN - Evelyn G. Anderson, 86, of Prophetstown, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at CGH Medical Center. She worked for various area businesses as a bookkeeper and most recently was employed by Tri-County Opportunities Council as an outreach worker.

Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Hooppole, the daughter of George and Anna (Doan) Blackert. She married Darvin "Spud" Anderson on April 27, 1940, in Prophetstown. He died March 17, 1956. She was a member of Prophetstown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Kimmel of Coal Valley; a son, Kevin of Pueblo, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, a sister and four brothers.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prophetstown United Methodist Church. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown.

A memorial has been established to Prophetstown Ambulance Service.
