A VETERAN EDITOR IS DEAD

Captain William PARKER editor of the Rock Falls News and dean of the newpaper men in Whiteside county and northern Illinois, died at his home in Rock Falls last Sunday morning after a sickness lasting some three **** He was seventy-two years old and for a number of years had resided in Rock Falls where he was one of the ******* citizens. The editor of the ***** *****  as "devil" in The ******* ****** ****** but the very ***** ***** ***** ***** during that trying period and also during the long acquaintance afterwards. He was a good newspaper man, and esteemed citizen and The Tornado extends to the wife and relatives its sympathy.
