Rolland Croft

 

            Rolland Lee Croft, 62, formerly of Tampico, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, Iowa.  He was employed by Illinois Forge, Rock Falls, for several years before moving to Arizona where he was employed as a welder.

            Mr. Croft was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Streator, the son of Earl H. and Ruth (Quiram) Croft.  He was a 1962 graduate of Tampico High School where he excelled in sports and went undefeated in the hurdles.

            He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

            Survivors include his mother of Prophetstown; a brother, Vaughn (Connie) Croft of Tucson, AZ; and a nephew, Jarrett Vaughn Earl Croft and a niece Audra Lynn Ruth Croft, both of Tucson, AZ.

            He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother Royal.

            The funeral is at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with the Rev. Daniel Behmlnder, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, officiating.  Burial is at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Washburn.  Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

            Memorials have been established to Disabled American Veterans and the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, Iowa
