Funeral Services Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. For Nicholas Barrett

 

            Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for Nicholas Barrett, 82, of Prophetstown, who died Sunday night.  He had been ill for some time.

            The body was removed to the Gardner Funeral Chapel and services were in St. Catherine’s Church, the Rev. Robert P. Donavan officiating.  Burial was in Tampico Cemetery.

            Nicholas John Barrett was born August 15, 1875, in Minonk, Ill, the son of Patrick and Ellen Barrett.  He was educated in Minonk and Pontiac schools before moving to a farm near Fenton later in life.  He had lived in Prophetstown since 1944.

            He married Anne Murphy of Tampico on April 22, 1930 in Prophetstown.

            Surviving are the widow, two brothers, Arthur Barrett, Dixon and Martin Barrett, Tampico; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Peely, Dixon, and Mrs. Mary Graham of St. L------, Mo.
