Mrs. Margaret Donaldson, Former Polo Teacher, Dies
 
 
Polo: - Mrs. Margaret C. Donaldson, 51, of East Dixon street, former teacher in the Polo high school, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dixon Public hospital after an illness of several months.
 
Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Melvin funeral home, Polo. The Rev. Bertram Davis, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairmount cemetery. Friends may call before the services Wednesday.
 
Margaret Drom was born in Antioch Oct. 20, 1901, the daughter of Wallace and Maude Wertz Drom. She was married to Harold J. Donaldson Sept. 9, 1936.  He died Feb. 15, 1952.
 
She taught in Polo Community high school for several years before her marriage and in recent years served as a substitute teacher. She was a member of the Polo Presbyterian church, PEO sisterhood, Corinthean chapter OES, Utopian Circle and the Polo Woman's club.
 
Mrs. Donaldson retired last year from the Polo library board, of which she had been a member for several years.
 
Surviving is a brother, Edwin L. Drom of Brookfield.  Her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister, preceded her in death.
