Last Rites Held For Carl Gumfory Friday
 
Tampico: - Funeral services were held for Carl Gumfory, Friday afternoon at the Parent Chapel in Tampico.  The Rev. Hollis Wharton of Walnut, formerly of Tampico, conducted the services assisted by the Rev. Joe Walker of the Methodist Church of Tampico.
 
Archie Yarde Jr. sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Juanita Pratt on the organ.  Casket bearers were Donald Tracy, Howard Hanson, Donald Mueller, Charles Satterfield, James Etheridge, James Kinnamon.  Those who assisted with the floweers were Patsy Dabler, Barbara Johnson, Delores Kroger and Virginia Dundgren of Manlius; Wayne Harms and George Hanson of Tampico.
 
Burial was in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.  Friends and relatives were present from Pryor, Okla.; Chicago, Sterling, Rock Falls, Annawan, Thomas, Sheffield, Prophetstown, Morrison, Hooppole, Walnut, New Bedford, Manliius, Fulton, Shannon and Tampico.
 
Carl Edward Gumfory was born at Morrison Feb. 15, 1933, and passed away at his home March 9.  He was the son of Charles and Leona Fritsch Gumfory.  He was reared near Tampico and received his education at the Burden and Swanson Schools and the Manlius Township High School.
 
He was engaged in farming with his father and also worked at the Royal Blue Grocery in Tampico for the past two years.  He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Cleo Jean and Anita Jane; and his grandmother, Mrs. Anna Fritsch of Walnut.

CARL GUMFORY PASSED AWAY

Carl Edward GUMFORY, 20, passed away at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles GUMFORY, farmers in Fairfield Township Monday evening. He had never been strong, but was critically ill for only a short time.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, March 13th at 2:00 at Parent Chapel were friends may call preceding the services. Rev. Hollis WHARTON, pastor of the Walnut Methodist church will officiate.

Interment will be in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Carl was born in Morrison on February 15, 1933. He attended Manlius High School and had lived at home since leaving school. He was employed at the Myers grocery store for a time.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Anita and Cleo Jean; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna FRITSCH of  Walnut.
