Olive Ballard Rites Wednesday
 
Prophetstown: - Mrs. Olive Mae Ballard, 96, Prophetstown, died Saturday evening at the Prophets Riverview Center.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gardner Chapel. The Rev. Daniel Boxwell will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation is at the chapel Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.  A Memorial fund has been established in her memory.
 
Olive Ballard was a lifetime resident in Prophetstown and was born Sept. 2, 1882, the daughter of Ara and Ella (Rogers) Paddock. She was educated in Prophetstown schools and a member of the First Congregational Church in Prophetstown.  She was united in marriage to John Ballard in Prophetstown Jan. 30, 1907.
 
Survivors include two sons, Willard, Lyndon,  and Lauren, Prophetstown;  three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Williamson, Rock Falls;  Mrs. Mabel Hamilton, Prophetstown;  and Mrs. Alta Koeppe, Corvallif, Oregon;  18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958; one son in 1970, three brothers, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
