Mrs. John H. Welch Taken By Death

Mrs. John H. Welch of Deer Grove passed away last Wednesday afternoon in the Rest haven Nursing Home in Dixon at the age of 81. She had been ill for the past month.

Funeral rites were held Saturday morning in the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon and in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sterling, with Rev. T. S. Green officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Sterling.

Mrs. Welch was born in Deer Grove on Dec. 13, 1876, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. John Ford.  she was graduated from Dixon college in 1896 and taught school until she married John H. Welch in Nov. of 1899, in St. Mary's church, Tampico, with Rev. Peter Weber officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Welch observed the 58th wedding anniversary last November.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Lourde Welch of Winnetka, L. J. Welch of Dixon, and  A. A. Welch of Baraboo, Wisc.; five daughters, Mrs. George (Mary) Foley of Sterling, Mrs. Walter  (LaRita) Dunn and Mrs. Edward (Delorosa) Cunningham of Chicago, Mrs. Charles (Elinor) Conners of Elmhurst and Mrs. D. (Bernadette) Hilliker of DeKalb, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Cecil; a brother, Harry Dillon Ford; and a sister, Mrs. John McGuire. She was the last of her family.
