MARY A. NAFTZGER
 
Prophetstown: - Mary A. Naftzger, 101, rural Prophetstown, died Wednesday eveinng at Community General Hospital following a brief illness.
 
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Leon United Methodist Church.  The Rev. Daniel Swinson, pastor will officiate.  Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.  Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown.
 
Mary Naftzger was born Dec. 2, 1881 in the Leon Communty, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Rowe) Lane.  She was educated in the Leon rural schools and graduated from G.C.I. College, Geneseo.
 
She married Clifford Naftzger of Albany.  She had resided in the Leon Community her entire lifetime and taught school at the Lane, Albany, Slocum District and Arnett Schools.
 
Survivors include one son, Ralph, Prophetstown; one grandson and two great-grandsons, all of Prophetstown. 
 
She was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and one half-sister.
