Jack Tidmarsh Dies Tuesday
 
Prophetstown: - S. Jack Tidmarsh, 80, died Tuesday evening at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marshall Esty officiating.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Gardner Chapel in Prophetstown from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.  A memorial fund has been established in his name to the Prophetstown United Methodist Church.
 
Samuel John Tidmarsh was born Oct. 16, 1896 in Riverside, the son of Samuel John and Mary Moore Tidmarsh. He attended Riverside schools. He married Bernadine Lowry of Prophetstown on Feb. 7, 1929 and they resided in Prophetstown since their marriage.  He was a member of the Prophetstown Boosters and was engaged in the grocery business from 1929 to 1957.
 
Survivors include his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Janice) Thompson of Rockton,  Mrs. Roger (Katherine) Schnell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Mary Jane Zidek of Barrington;  two sons, John of Ardmore, Okla., and Glen of Palatine; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded by his parents, one sister and one brother.
